a profile feature simply is a newspaper article that solely focuses and explores the background and character or a person or of a group of people. Usually the focus will be on a specific professional aspect of the persons professional life. As profile features are usually written from a news angle. An example of a profile feature would be.
when scandals were going around about former mp and him being a liar and a cheat. this was a profile feature about him and his character.

Other example of profile features would be when talking about famous artist and their new singles being released and how well it is doing. this is a very common type of profile feature.

How can lighting affect an image?
Lighting plays one of the biggest parts in photography, it doesn't just only determine the brightness and darkness of an image it also determines the atmosphere, tones and mood you are going for. there for it plays a very important role in an image. Lighting is what allows us to tell a story by conveying emotion through an image. if an image is quite vibrant it gives off more of a happy and joyful atmosphere if the lighting is quit dark and quiet it is more emotive and serious. It is important to make sure that your lighting is in accordance with the point your trying to out across. you achieve this by making sure you have the right texture and vibrancy you do this by manipulating and controlling your light until its to your liking.

Below is an image I took about 2 Years ago , It was my first studio shoot I wanted it to be quite a dark image in order to show more emotion. therefore I feel like I could learn to try different lighting set ups a bit more in order for the lighting to fit my idea and the photo a bit more. I also feel like knowing what types of lighting go with different emotions and what each lighting set up can portray is something I could also learn more from. I will be making sure put this into practice for my next shoots.
My inspiration
For my studio shoot I really wanted to go with the theme of a 90,s fashion themes shoot. I was always used to do quite basic shoots and I had Never done anything with a lot of colour and seeing some fashion photography shoots and covers inspired me to go for it. I loved how eye-catching all the colours looked together and the hair and make up was beautiful and really wanted to try if and use it for this project. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. Below is an example what I was inspired by.
I saw one of Pamela Hansons photos on Instagram and was extremely intrigues by the hair and make up and decided to want to do something similar and,  want a time where there was a lot of colour therefore I could put both my ideas into one. I really got inspired by her image and the quality and mood of the image.
There are a lot of different lighting styles depending on what type of fashion photography you are going for. for example I wanted to quite a bright theme with a pop of colour therefore I didn't want a lot of bright light just enough to show the colours I wanted soft boxes with some soft light in order to highlight her face and makeup but not so that the image is to blinding. I also wanted to show the details of her outfit. I didn't want any harsh lighting and wanted some shadow therefore to achieve this I had to put the light on one side and a high lighting to achieve a shadow.
These are some examples

Hair and make up
all my lighting diagrams and hair and makeup ideas are listed in my treatment below. I wanted to go for the 90s look which was quite soft makeup but still have a pop of colour, they would usually have big waves or curls styles hair or a afro. that's the type of hair and make up as for outfits, I wanted quite vibrant colours as shown in the pictures I wanted It to be quite eye catching. below is my treatment with my lighting diagrams used and the hair and makeup plan we did. some of the lighting we moves from one side to another during the shoot in order to see what worked best.

Model release form
To conclude this part of the project, I really enjoyed it however it was a bit stressful as there are always things that go better than others. In terms of my model she was very organised and it ran very smoothly
the release form, the outfit changes went very well and hair and makeup she was very photogenic.

However there were things that didn't go as well for example I struggles with the camera focus and the set up. I was really liking the way the photos were coming out and took longer than I wanted to with the photos. I would have wanted to have been a bit calmer I was quote stressed which didn't really help for the shoot to run as smoothly.

However in conclusion it was my first attempt at a fashion photography studio shoot and I am happy I did it was an experience and hope to next time to do better as I have gained a bit more experience.
